Friday, February 7, 2014 at 8:57AM Since we are in Mercury Retrograde until the 27th, I think it is a great time to revisit one of the best grounding stones there is! Black Tourmaline is not only grounding, but also transmutes harmful EMF's from computers, cell phones, tv's, wireless routers, microwaves, etc. Tourmaline belongs to a complex family of aluminum borosilicates mixed with iron, magnesium, or other various metals that, depending on the proportions of its components, may form as red, pink, yellow, brown, black, green, blue or violet. Its prismatic, vertically striated crystals may be long and slender, or thick and columnar, and are uniquely triangular in cross-section. Black Tourmaline has more iron than the other colors, thus creating a deep dark blue to black tone. It is electrical in nature, providing a strong vibration that can pull grounding energy from the Earth and spread that throughout the entire body and energetic system. It dispels fear, panic, and anxiety, as well as supports physical detox, the skeletal system and immune system. It is wonderful to have near your computers and in your workspace, as it promotes concentration as you will stay grounded while working. For a releasing meditation, use 3 Black Tourmaline points (like the one pictured above) and place the point downwards at your Root Chakra, Earth Star Chakra (6 inches below the feet) and 1 at each outer ankle, and allow the vibration to assist you in releasing into the Earth what no longer serves you. (the energies will be transmuted into light, so they will be beneficial to the Earth). You can also make a crystal pouch with a couple of tumbled Black Tourmalines, and place them in your pocket, purse or car for further healing. And yes, you can take a long soak in the tub with them to let go of the day's stress!;)
